It’s days like this that make me want to be a writer. It’s dreary and rainy outside, I have a beautiful quaint view of downtown and the river hear in Huntington and I’m relaxing in my pjs drinking a cup of Yogi Green Tea.

I work today around 5pm. I’m going out to grab a bit to eat in a minute and explore down town. It has come to it. I need a camera. I am taking all these wonderful adventures and I have no way to capture it. I see such great shots every day as I’m driving around and in different places. It’s time to set aside a little money and get some sort of SLR digital.

PS. Somehow the wireless started working and thats free. You only have to pay when you plug in your computer… [shrug]

Today was a long…long…long day. I started at my parents house driving the box truck down to Thomasville, NC and then from there North West to Huntington, WV.

For those of you that don’t know what it is I have been doing for the last 2 weeks, I have been on tour with Dance Caravan. I sort of talent search if you will for “The Star of Tomorrow.”

Now you may be asking yourself what all this has to do with each other, but its all kind of crazy how it all came to be.

My friend Tyler worked once upon a time for this guy named Larry. Larry owns a sound company in Thomasville, NC who somehow over the last few years got connected with Dance Caravan. They needed a driver/tech producer for a few city tour… and poof, the rest was history.

Working for Dance Caravan the last few weeks has been a lot of fun though, I met some really great guys this past weekend who setup with me and we hung out all weekend and spent way to much money out at the bars and hitting up Times Square.

Being on the road has it’s share of stories I must say and boy do I have some for you, my faithful readers.

Sorry I have been gipping you lately of text in your RSS feed. I assure you it’s not some clever plot to keep you in suspense. Really the truth is I have a problem about paying for wifi on the road and a lot of the hotels I’ve stayed at lately charge around $9.95 a day to have the privilege of checking your own email. I think thats a bloody shame and when you are staying at such a nice place you would think such amenities wouldn’t come with an extra price tag…

My friend Spaley said, “The more you pay for a hotel … It seems like the less you get…”

I am writing these next few posts OFFLINE in an attempt to save my $9.95 for something like… two beers at the bar or an overpriced latte at the local coffee shop.

So one day when I’m back in NJ or NC and I am either at home or staying in a Howard Johnson again I will post this and update you of all the crazy things that have happened from the road.

It brings the “I’m travel size” statement to a whole new level. I think This post will be the first post to gain the tag “travel size” as a start of a new section about my adventures on the road as a freelancer.

For those of you who are worried that I might be starving … you know working as a freelancer…I must say it has been the best career choice I have ever made…

Well it’s 2 am and I need to get up early so I’m off to sleep.

Goodnight world.
