The Red Sox

Before the world series this year I must admit, it’s been a long time since I followed a game all the way through, with the exception of AAA teams. Even then, it was just going to enjoy a game with friends. The last team in any league I really enjoyed pulling for was the Richmond Braves back in their “hay day” this was a year or two after Chipper left for Atlanta.

Over the last few years I have really grown sick of professional sports and their players constantly bitching for more money…when really, I mean sure your amazing at what you do, but where is the fun any more… where is the life, the energy, and the joy of being proud of your team and your job. *cough*A-Rod*cough* When I have watched sports in the last few months and years, I have felt like I am watching people with desk jobs run around a field…

Now granted I haven’t watched a ton of games but I have felt that way, with the exception of several soccer & hockey games I’ve seen recently…

Now for those of you that don’t know… My roommate is an avid Sox fan. And for the last few years that I have known him… I have wondered… “What the hell is wrong with you… Why do you like this team so much…”

So I thought, what better time to find out what the fuss was all about, than during the World Series.

I must say… I was really skeptical at first…but after a few innings…for the first time, in a long time….

I saw a team that was so passionate about what they do…and who they were. Somehow they were able to turn me into a fan over night…now you may say…It’s easy to pull for them when they are winning…

Honestly this team would have been exciting to watched even if they had lost the first for games… Now I’m glad that they didn’t… But I must say… I understand a little better “What it means to be a Red Sox Fan”

I mean what could be better than a musical “Bullpen”

    What a great pic.

Billy came to me in the Hallmark store the other day, I was buying a few cards I needed to send, with the biggest little boy grin on his face. I said, “What?” He pulled a Hallmark Christmas tree ornament from behind his back. It was David Ortiz.

So, David Ortiz will be hanging from a branch on our Christmas tree this year. I think THAT’s what it means to be a Red Sox fan. hahah :)
